Devyser launches new AZF test kits

14 January 2016

Analysis of the Y chromosome in men with azoospermia or severe oligozoospermia has resulted in the identification of three regions in the euchromatic part of the long arm of the human Y chromosome (Yq11) that are frequently deleted in men with otherwise unexplained spermatogenic failure. PCR analysis of microdeletions in the AZFa, Devyser AZV v2 STS markersAZFb and AZFc (AZF: Azoospermia Factor) regions of the human Y chromosome is an important screening tool in the work-up of infertile males opting for assisted reproductive techniques.

We are happy to announce that Devyser have finalized the development of an updated version of the Devyser AZF kit, designed to follow the latest guidelines: http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/24357628

The updated Devyser AZF v2 kit includes the basic markers according to the EAA/EMQN best practice guidelines for molecular diagnosis of Y-chromosomal microdeletions.

The same reference group also recommends, in special cases, to test for extra markers. These extra markers are now available in the new Devyser AZF Extension kit.
